I found the base of this piece in a dilapidated storage building in Vermont. I had permission to go through and salvage what I could from what had long been a storage place for hundreds of RR Scale Foundry Forms. Among these ancient treasures I also found misc. metal pieces that I can only assume had something to do with the railroad.

I've cold welded three railroad nuts and three found washers on top of this piece. I have removed the rust on the base, it is your choice if you want to buy a rust inhibitor or leave it be ~ as in time, if left outdoors it will rust again. I like the rust and like to leave everything as in tact as I can. If left indoors you could put felt under it or just leave it as is.

I am just an artist piecing together found objects into functional form. This candle holder does hold candles but I am not responsible for fires if you leave this unattended!!! Push the candles deep into the hole and/or also put aluminum foil on the inside for a tight, secure fit.
